It looks great within Lr, PS and through any browser but I tried 10 different apps for Windows 10 and the black are so black that there is barely any detail visible. I edited it in PS, assigned the sRGB profile and saved it as JPG. I have a photo that shows mostly black colors. ![]() Or you can send here two files - rotated and original - and I'll check this out. Look especially at info about binary data. You can look at the exiftool info (exiftool filename.jpg) and compare if metadata got changed. In this case photo wouldn't be touched, but metadata - precisely "photo in photo". Some cameras adds really big thumbnail to JPEG files and Windows either removes it or changes it to own. Why size has changed? It's hard to tell without file. If your image browser have Exif rotation tag support, you'd see both photos the same. If you see both photos rotated it means that one have Exif rotation tag and second one is really rotated by Windows. Second one manipulates image data ("real" rotation), but without loosing data*. It's just data for image browser that it should show image rotated. Photo can be rotated losslessly in two ways (maybe more?). I have gone under C:\Program Files\Windows Photo Viewer and this is what I found: I just noticed yesterday that it was missing. All along it was there, even though it was not my default photo viewer for any format. Windows Photo Viewer disappeared from my applications list, or from the Open With menu. You'll only have to do this the first time you open each new type of image file. In other words, whenever you open an image that opens in the Photos app, just close the Photos app and use the "Open with" menu to associate that file type with Windows Photo Viewer.
